gorgeous, lovely, heartwarming debut 7” on this promising new label, a split release between pause 2 artist ‘maps and diagrams’ and newcommer broca. with a show-stealing contribution to pause 2’s unpronounceable ‘rnd_0.34873349921’ compilation, m&d (as he's known to his friends) blend a beautifully crafted classic idm melody line with the introduction of deep, crunchy percussion. one of those tracks that sits deep, slivers of melody resurfacing from time to time, tickling the emotions. broca’s ‘sei cosi dolce’ on the flip is equally slinky, nice airy percussion and twisting keys, all gloriously spacious in that kind of brooding yet uplifting way that musik aus strom excelled in a few years back. excellent stuff. boomkat records
