cactus island bring us the 9th in their residents association series and it's another beauty. tammetõru (otherwise known as myrakaru, i believe) provide four delicious tracks that combine a lush electronica sound along with a slightly detroity feel to the chords and pads. although there is less here than on the album for expanding, you get a really clear sense of where they're coming from and the gorgeous sense of melody is palpable. intricate rhythm structures and very pleasing arrangements make it a low-key but very engaging piece of work. a superb release. smallfish records
