a cactus island release, you say? and it's not on a 3" cd! don't let that put you off however as this still something of a limited release and, by gum, it's a goodie as well. this could easily be the soundtrack to my summer and has already received a large amount of play at home and in the shop. its mellow vibes and cracking mixture of electronica, breaks and drum & bass is heady to say the least and the combination shows just how good a hybrid this can be. beautifully produced, lively and melodic and packed full of jazzy tinges... i'd even hazard to say that this is electronica at its finest. simply a must check album that, after my initial misgivings, has turned into a bona fide favourite of mine. superb and highly recommended.

a never heard before weave is a british multi-instrumentalist barry leake. it is no wonder i did not hear a word about him before - this is his debut album. i will be sincere at this point - such a beautiful debut albums are very rarely released. it is a pity cactus island has printed only 500 copies of this masterpiece...
of the nature tone is worth all of my most sincere applause for at least two tracks - deepwit and minera (this one is dedicated to the legendary john peel. rip). but if to say the truth the biggest part of 14 tracks of this album are more or less gorgeous. as my colleague says, there are no perfect albums and i guess he is right. but those few pseudo experimental tracks that do not fit into the general freshness and clarity of this album (as my guitar rots gently and purge) do not spoil a thing. the style of this album has made a pleasant surprise for me - it is pretty unexpected if to have in mind present fashion of musical styles. merging softness of sense and warm rhythms of ninja tune wasn't such a hard task.
after the try-out of weave's album i felt being a better man. i ask myself if music can give something more valuable.
this is the best album for drowning in the calm silence of a hot summer night... sutemos.net
