once again we are faced with another electronica release of outstanding quality from the lovely people at cactus island. i don't know whether it's just me, but this series of limited edition 3" cds just keeps on getting better and better. sabi's contribution to the catalogue is an exquisite example of how to produce thoughtful, melodic, yet still experimental electronic music. from the opening moments of 'plastic stains' to the end of 'early morning dusts' you are treated to an exceptional work of beauty that uses traditional electronica components in a slightly skewed manner... sinewave twinkles, dense textures of lovingly crafted sound, crunchy rhythmic tones and arrangements and a solid, high class production all the way through. mark this one down in your diaries as it's an absolute beauty through and through... highly, highly recommended. smallfish records
