hold on to something firm and steady yourselves for this... static caravan and cactus island have got together to deliver this enchanting split cd release from bury & disinter and somme (aka rob lyons and tim diagram). the first half (bury & disinter) is concerned with the mellow playing of guitars and a very subtle manipulation. for the most part, though, it's deliciously organic, really rather melancholy and just downright lovely to boot. the latter half (somme) sees a much more electronic sound taking shape with the kind of rhythms and melodies that maps + diagrams does so well providing the meat of the tracks. haunting and moody with some delightful instrumentation, this is electronica at its finest. don't miss out! smallfish records
